Music, dances, magic and fireworks at Pasko sa Intramuros

CHRISTMAS is always a season of wonder in the Philippines. Festive music, magicians, street performances, and glittering lights make the season extra magical at Pasko sa Intramuros, a Christmas exhibit and bazaar at Gen. Luna corner Postigo Streets in Intramuros, Manila.

 

Organized by the Department of Tourism (DOT), Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), and the Intramuros Administration, Pasko sa Intramuros is the month-long exhibit and bazaar featuring each region’s unique and best finds. Exhibit goers can discover more about the different regions of the country by trying out food from the different provinces, as well as through buying their products.

Performers are as follows: Dec. 21, 7 p.m., the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra’s four-piece strings section will serenade exhibit-goers with classic Christmas tunes and standard in “Pop Goes the Violins”; Dec. 22, 7 p.m., the DOT- Central Luzon will stage “Live Band Night” featuring Youtube sensation, Katrina Velarde and the Lance Busa Band; Dec. 23, 8 p.m., belter Dessa will perform her heart stopping numbers.

The Christmas magic doesn’t end on Dec. 26 as marching bands will perform at 3:30 p.m, followed by a magic show for kids by Tito Cris at p.m, and the Live Bands Showdown organized by DOT Region 3 at 7 p.m. It’s a battle of the best dance groups on Dec. 27 with the Hataw Sayaw Dance Showdown elimination round at 6 p.m. Also on Dec. 27,, rising balladeer and actor Michael Pangilinan serenades exhibit guests at 8:30 p.m.

The kids will enjoy the festivities on Dec. 29 with a marching band at 3:30 p.m followed by stilt walkers, balloonists and street magicians at 4 p.m. There’s also something special for them with arts and crafts, games, and a kiddie raffle during Kid’s Hour. The family will also enjoy the performance of The Illustrados of Intramuros at 7 p.m.

Capping off the Christmas season on Dec. 30 are Hataw Sayaw Grand Finals at p.m., and the DOT-Central Luzon New Year Live Band Night.
